I am sick and tired of this type of tma fans I swear. stop. go read percy jackson or some other fantasy about gods. stop taking out harm from the story about causing harm!!!
@kairos-polaris Like, this is a horror podcast about a guy who gets manipulated into being a tool for world destruction stop making it a sitcom! I just don't get where these fans are coming from and I hate the way their headcannons are spreading into fannon at large. Like, no Tim isn't entirely there to be an office prankster/ comic relief. Sasha isn't a 'The One With the Braincell' (that interpretation has Layers of Issues with women's representation in fandom anyway). And most importantly to me, Jonah isn't an effeminate gay stereotype that dresses like a cartoon villain
@thetoadking1 yes! this is a /horror/ podcast and for some reason the fans don't even like horror? of my issues is people taking out the willingness to harm people as a requirement to be an avatar. like I fear you missed the point. I fear you are ignoring the very complex system and reducing it to gods and cool powers. you have to be willing to harm people! you have to harm people! feeding on someone's fear without harming them is impossible. even if it's something like Jonah's abilities which is making people feel watched, mental harm caused by paranoia and not feeling safe no matter where is still harm
@kairos-polaris Exactly! Like, harming people and feeding on fear is what /makes/ someone an avatar. Taking that element out is just being blind to pretty much all the lore in podcast. And I blame Martin
@thetoadking1 so many things that went wrong are Martin's fault
@nibi-nix That's what I've been saying- Martin's characterization is all over the place in the later seasons (The writing took a nosedive in season five) and it made the fandom treat him and the fears as less evil than they actually are.
